1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Mentoroid website (mentoroid.ai), the Mentoroid desktop application, or any related APIs (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms are between you and Mentoroid Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore (UEN: 202417636G).
2. Description of Service
Mentoroid is an AI-powered coaching tool for Dota 2. The Service provides:
- Pre-game goal setting and performance evaluation based on your match history.
- In-game draft analysis and real-time audio coaching delivered through a desktop application.
- Post-game performance analytics (Mentoroid Score), trend tracking, and AI-generated coaching insights.
The Mentoroid desktop application operates as an external companion tool. It does not modify the Dota 2 client, inject code into the game process, or alter game files. It reads game state through Valve's official Game State Integration (GSI) API and uses local screen capture for hero detection. Match data is sent to our servers for analysis. 3. Early Access
The Service is currently in early access. During early access:
- The Service is provided free of charge.
- Features, functionality, and availability may change without notice.
- The Service may contain bugs or errors. We make no guarantees regarding uptime or accuracy during this period.
- Early-access availability is limited and granted on a first-come, first-served basis via the waitlist.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian's consent and verification before using the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
5. Account and Access
- You authenticate through Steam OpenID. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Steam account.
- You must enable "Expose Public Match Data" in your Dota 2 settings for the Service to access your match history.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
6. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license terminates automatically if you violate these Terms.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Mentoroid application.
- Use the Service to develop a competing product or service.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense access to the Service.
- Use the Service in combination with any software that violates Valve's or Dota 2's terms of service (e.g., cheats, hacks, or automation tools that interact with the game client).
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Use automated tools or bots to access the Service.
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices in the application.
- Provide false information when signing up.
8. AI-Generated Content
Coaching insights, performance analysis, and recommendations provided by Mentoroid are AI-generated and informational only. They do not constitute professional advice. We do not guarantee that the Service will improve your MMR, win rate, or gameplay performance. The Service is not a substitute for professional coaching.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, Mentoroid Score algorithm, AI models, design, text, and graphics, is owned by Mentoroid Pte. Ltd. and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or proprietary technology.
Dota 2, Steam, and the Dota 2 logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Mentoroid is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation.
10. Your Data
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of data as described in that policy, including the processing of your match data by Anthropic (Claude) to generate coaching insights.
You retain ownership of your personal Dota 2 match data. By using the Service, you grant Mentoroid a non-exclusive license to process your match data for the purpose of providing coaching, generating your Mentoroid Score, and improving our models.
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service may be used by us without obligation to you.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on Valve's Steam Web API, Game State Integration API, and other third-party services (detailed in our Privacy Policy). We are not responsible for changes to, outages of, or discontinuation of third-party services that affect the functionality of Mentoroid.
Your use of Dota 2 is governed by Valve's own terms of service and Steam Subscriber Agreement. It is your responsibility to comply with those terms.
12. Updates and Modifications
The Mentoroid application may automatically download updated AI models and game data. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service without notice. Updates may be required for continued use.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will improve your MMR or win rate.
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Coaching recommendations will be accurate in all situations.
- The Service will remain compatible with future versions of Dota 2 or changes to Valve's APIs.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mentoroid Pte. Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or damage to your computer system, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to use the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD $100).
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), except where prohibited by law. You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time.
Upon termination, your license to use the Service is revoked immediately. You may request deletion of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
17. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where possible, notify you via the email address you provided. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to conflict of law principles.
