Your match history tells you more than your win rate. Mentoroid looks at how you farm, fight and use the map, so you can see where you're doing well and where you're falling behind.

Know what you're
picking into.

A familiar hero can have a very different game against a different lineup. Mentoroid reads the draft and helps you plan around who you're playing with and against.

  • Hero picks are detected as the draft develops
  • Pick suggestions account for your role and the enemy lineup
  • Correct a teammate's role if the coach gets it wrong
  • Read your game plan before the horn

Wave & rune control

Push the wave before moving for the power rune. Make the enemy mid choose between following you and staying for the creeps.

When the rune is about to spawn

The coach can remind you to push before you leave mid.

Advice you don't have to stop and read.

It's easy to miss a rune timing or a new enemy item while you're watching your lane. Mentoroid gives you a heads-up over voice, with advice based on your current match.

Your wave is pushing toward their tower. Farming it means walking further from yours.

Don't push this wave. Keep it closer to your tower and force them to walk forward.

Why did that fight go wrong?

You know you died. The useful part is understanding whether it was your positioning, an item choice or a fight you shouldn't have taken. Mentoroid reviews the replay and explains your options, including the calls you got right.

Leaving the wave for a rune

You left mid before pushing the wave. While you moved toward the rune, the enemy mid stayed for the creeps.

Next time

Start setting up for the rune before it spawns. If you can safely push the wave first, you'll give up fewer creeps by leaving.

Know what to practise next.

If the same mistake keeps showing up, it's worth working on. Mentoroid looks across your matches for habits like missed rotations or too few sentries, and helps you set a goal for your next game.

It also points out what you're doing well. You shouldn't have to lose a game to get useful feedback.

Coaching feedback identifying strong watcher control and kill participation, a need for more sentry wards, and inconsistent rotations and support contribution.

How it works alongside Dota.

Mentoroid runs as a separate app. It uses Valve's game data feed and reads information on your game screen.

Runs separately from Dota

Mentoroid doesn't inject code into Dota or read its memory. You control your hero and make the decisions.

Voice runs on your computer

Hero detection, screen reading and speech generation happen locally. Your Steam password stays with Steam.

Built with FPS in mind

The coach limits its processing to leave room for Dota. When you close the game, it hibernates.

Dota 2 for now. We want to bring Mentoroid to more games, but we're focusing this beta on getting Dota coaching right.

Try it in your next Dota match.

Download the beta and give it a game. If a call helps, arrives too late or misses the point, tell us on Discord. That's the feedback we need.
